We structure your address data

Accurate addresses from the very first keystroke. Adatka autocompletes, validates, and standardises address inputs in real time.

Reduce data entry errors and manual cleanup, with clear match precision and transparent data sources. Delivered via a developer-friendly REST API.

Address autocomplete

Suggests addresses in real time for checkout forms, CRMs, and web apps. Automatically handles typos, missing accents, and common abbreviations.

We give you more than a match

Address data sources sometimes differ from one another, and not every house number appears in all of them. Adatka does not hide uncertainty: it tells you at what level it found the match, and it flags when the house number entered is not in our data or when the postal code entered does not belong to the address found.

example

The same place at three levels of detail

Szeged, Kárász utca 9

house level

46.251573, 20.146643

source: OpenStreetMap · KSH · GeoNames

Szeged, Kárász utca

street level

46.251717, 20.147337

source: Magyar Posta · OpenStreetMap · KSH

Szeged

settlement level

46.253, 20.14824

source: KSH · GeoNames · Magyar Posta

This is not a shortcoming but part of the service: anyone who works with address data also needs to know where the uncertainty lies.

Transparent data sources

Adatka combines publicly released and openly licensed sources. A response can be built from several sources; the response lists which ones, and the role of each source is described on the Data sources page.

Sources: KSH Gazetteer (Helységnévtár) · GeoNames · OpenStreetMap · Magyar Posta Partner Extra · National Election Office (Nemzeti Választási Iroda) — polling district address dataset

Data status: Magyar Posta — dataset of 21 September 2026 · KSH Gazetteer (Helységnévtár) — 2025 edition · OpenStreetMap — extract of 16 August 2026 · GeoNames — download of 16 August 2026 · National Election Office (Nemzeti Választási Iroda) — dataset of 16 January 2026

Designed for data minimisation

An address search does not need a name, email address, client ID or any other data that directly identifies a person. When you use the API, too, please send only the data needed to process the address.

Details of how address data, technical logs and contact data are handled are set out in the Privacy notice and the Terms of service (in Hungarian).

For developers

A simple REST API with JSON responses. A uniform address object on every endpoint.

The endpoints, parameters, fields, error codes and limits are described with examples in the API documentation. You can also view the raw response in the live demo with the “API response (JSON)” button.

curl "https://adatka.hu/suggest?q=bp+hegedus32&limit=1"

Prices

The service is currently available in beta, free of charge. We will not publish a price until we can stick to it — but we have already decided what our charges will be based on. Before introducing a paid plan, we will inform everyone affected in advance; free access will not turn into a paid subscription automatically.

We are looking for pilot partners

We are looking for organisations that would try Adatka in a real workflow and measure with us, for example:

  • the time it takes to enter an address;
  • the share of addresses that need correcting afterwards;
  • the reasons for failed or uncertain matches.

We publish only results that were actually measured and approved by the partner.
